Europe's best motorhome destinations for October!

Autumn has officially started! Maybe you aren't prepared yet for all the rain and cold temperatures, but we still have to face it... Luckily there are still many fun things to see and explore in Europe during this autumnal month. Quickly read on to find out about some of the best motorhome destinations of Europa in October!

Are you having an awful amount of trouble accepting the fact that summer has officially ended? Go spend your late summer in Spain then! There are many places in the south of Spain where you can still enjoy comfortable temperatures in October. Especially in the Andalusia region, you will be able to walk around in shorts in various places. In this blog, we have listed a couple of Andalusia's highlights for you.

Everywhere in Southern Spain are free motorhome stopovers. This is great because this means that you can stay at the beach for nada! Do you want to wake up by the breeze of the ocean, or would you rather go for a hike in National Park Sierra Nevada? Whatever you might do, in Southern Spain you can enjoy an amazing late summer.

It might not be as hot in Tuscany as it is in Southern Spain, but still October is one of the best months to travel to this region. Not only for the beautiful autumnal colours and mild temperatures, but also for the most delicious festival in Europe: the Boccaccesca festival! Boccaccesca is a yearly festival that is held in the beautiful medieval village Certaldo Alto. At this festival, you can enjoy Tuscan wines, bread, and other Italian delicacies, but you can also see all the beautiful historical buildings and charming streets that are basically everywhere.

To go to the Boccaccesca festival with your motorhome, you can stay the night at the free motorhome stopover Area Comunale, or at Agricamping area di sosta camper Poggia ai Pini. Both of these motorhome stopovers are located close to Certaldo Alto, so close to the festival as well!

It may rain a lot, but that doesn't mean that the Netherlands doesn't have anything nice to offer during autumn. For example, you can enjoy unlimited peace, quiet, nature, and (not to forget) autumnal colours at National Park Dwingelderveld, located in the Dutch province Drenthe. In this national park, you will find hundreds of kilometres of hiking and cycling routes past heathland, forests, and fens.

Are you travelling with kids? Go to the Dwingelderveld Visitor Centre and take part in the OERRR Autumn Exploration. During this tour, you venture out together with a forest ranger to learn everything about the forest and heathland during autumn.

You can spend the night at various motorhome stopovers close to Dwingelderveld. For example, at Camperparc Stee in Lhee, Manege Drift 12, CamperPark Torentjeshoek, Landgoed Meistershof, or EuroParcs De Wiltzangh. There's no shortage of motorhome stopovers!
