Motorhome route through Zeeland: discover the most beautiful places of Zeeland!

In the southwest of the Netherlands lies a province that is extremely well-fitted for a vacation or weekend getaway: Zeeland. In Zeeland you will find hundreds of kilometres of beaches and dunes, the most delicious fresh fish, picturesque villages, and more than enough amazing motorhome stopovers! Are you ready to find out what a motorhome trip to Zeeland could look like? Then quickly read on!

Day 1: Bruinisse – Burgh-Haamstede – Kamperland (51 km)

Zeeland is easy to reach from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Are you starting your trip from Belgium? Then you should consider to ride this motorhome route the other way around. This is not a prerequisite, though; you can start this route from any point you'd like.

The first destination from this motorhome route is Bruinisse. This atmospherical fisherman's village has delicious mussels and stunning nature in the nearby National Park Oosterschelde.

Have you eaten enough mussels? Then it's time to drive a little bit, towards Zierikzee. This port town is located at a short distance from Bruinisse and is the next pit-stop on our motorhome route. Did you know that Zierikzee is in the top 10 of Dutch monumental cities?! You should definitely get out of your motorhome here and explore this beautiful place!

After Zierikzee, you can make a short stop in Burgh-Haamstede. Relax on the beach or have a bite to eat in one of the many nice restaurants. After Burgh-Haamstede, you cross the Oosterschelde barrier with your motorhome, after which you will end up in Kamperland. Here, you can park your motorhome at Roompot Beach Resort to enjoy a good night's sleep.

Day 2: Kamperland – Veere (23 km)

On day 2 you will wake up in Kamperland, south of the Oosterschelde barrier. Do you fancy a fun activity? Drive back up north for a little bit and visit the Deltapark Neeltje Jans! Here you can watch the storm surge barrier, spot sea lions and seals, and make a boat trip on the Oosterschelde.

Looking for another (or even more) fun activities? Take a short trip to Veere. This picturesque town is just a stone's throw from Kamperland and offers a lot of history, sights, nice shops and cosy restaurants! In need of some adrenaline? On the Veere Lake, located right next to Veere, you can undertake various water sports. Think waterskiing, surfing, sailing, fishing or swimming!

When you are exhausted from a long but fantastic day in Zeeland, you can park your motorhome at Minicamping Korenbloem. Located in Vrouwenpolder, a short distance from historic Veere, this motorhome stopover is the perfect place to end a great day.

Day 3: Veere – Middelburg (25 km)

On the third day of this motorhome tour, you'll travel from Veere to Middelburg. This doesn't take a lot of time, so you can stop off at Domburg on the way! Domburg is also known as one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in the Netherlands, partly due to its wide beaches and large selection of restaurants and wellness options. This is a wonderful place to spend a morning and/or afternoon relaxing!

After visiting Domburg, continue your journey to Middelburg, the capital of Zeeland. This is the place to go shopping or have a drink on a terrace. Middelburg also has beautiful historical buildings everywhere, so during a city walk you will undoubtedly be amazed. Our tip for Middelburg? During your visit, look for the best Zeeland bolus in town; this delicious sugared bun is a must-try during your motorhome trip through Zeeland!

At the end of the day, you can park your motorhome at Stadscamping Zeeland, located near the city centre.

Day 4: Middelburg – Yerseke (39 km)

The last destination of this motorhome trip is Yerseke. Do you love oysters and mussels? Then you've come to the right place! Mussels are caught here throughout the year and oysters are also farmed here. So during your visit to Yerseke, you should undoubtedly take a tour of the oyster pits, where you will learn all about this delicious delicacy and may even get to collect them yourself!

The final activity of this motorhome trip is obvious: when you find yourself in the oyster and mussel capital of the Netherlands, there is nothing better to do than to enjoy a delicious dinner starring oysters and/or mussels. There is almost no better ending to a motorhome trip....

Still want to spend the night in Yerseke? You can! Park your motorhome at Camping Zon & Zee, located on Yerseke's harbour. From here, you'll be in the cosy fishing village in no time.
