A motorhome trip on the Côte d'Azur is not complete without a visit to Saint-Tropez. Once upon a time this place was just a small fishing village. Over the years, Saint-Tropez has grown into one of the most popular seaside resorts in France. The resort is mainly popular with wealthy tourists. Celebrities know Saint-Tropez therefore for years to find. They celebrate their vacations here or even have their own villa on the coast. Yet Saint-Tropez is more than just a luxury resort, the village is very attractive and you will find many authentic buildings. You can see this especially in the 18th century district "La Ponche". When you walk around you forget all the luxury and see how much charm Saint-Tropez actually has.

2. Feel like a real movie star in Cannes

Cannes! Chances are that you have already heard of this city on the Côte d'Azur. Every year the international film festival is held here. During your motorhome stopover in Cannes, you can also take a look at the Walk of Fame. You will find it in front of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. Here are no less than 140 handprints on tiles of movie actors. Cannes was also originally a fishing village. There was actually hardly anything to do or experience in Cannes. In the 19th century this changed. Englishmen saw a future in Cannes and invested in the city. There were sandy beaches, boulevards and other facilities realized. After this time, there was very little left of this important port city. In the old town are still some traces of the past to see, such as the Cathedral Saint-Léonce. Be sure to take a look at this cathedral during your motorhome trip on the Côte d'Azur. The coastal town of Saint-Raphaël is also nearby. Because Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël are so close to each other, it is often seen as one place. The coastline of this town is 36 kilometers long and you will find many different beaches. 4. Marseille: a hip port city!

Time to visit Marseille. This is the second largest city in the country! In recent years, Marseille has become increasingly popular for a city break or a stopover with the motorhome. We understand only too well why this is so. Marseille is the perfect combination of culture, nature and beach. Relax on one of the beautiful sandy beaches, sit down on one of the terraces opposite Le Vieux-Port. This old port was built in the 15th century. The old elements have remained, but in 2013 a beautiful walking area was created. So you can enjoy walking along the quay here! When you walk along the quay you will automatically come across MuCEM. In this large museum you will find a combination of historical objects and modern coast. Also the cathedral and the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde you will encounter automatically. These high buildings rise far above the city! Also the shopping enthusiasts can't believe their luck in Marseille. You will find two large shopping centers Les Docks and Les Terrasses du Port. Here you will find everything you need from top brands to nice boutiques.

5. Visit the colorful flower market in Nice

Nice! This city is also known as the heart of the Côte d'Azur. Nice owes this name to its central location. The beach of Nice consists mainly of pebbles and for this reason it is very popular to rent a bed at one of the beach bars. However, most motorhomers who visit Nice do not come for the beach. In fact, Nice is rich in many attractions. Stroll through the winding alleys in the old town and admire the authentic houses with brightly colored facades. In the center you will automatically encounter the Cours Saleya. On this street a colorful flower market is held from Tuesday to Sunday. Place du Palais de Justice, Place Rosetti, cathedral Sainte Réparate and Place Saint-François should not be missed during your camperstop in Nice.

Last on our list: Antibes. This picturesque town can be found between Cannes and Nice. It is perhaps a slightly less popular city, but definitely worth a stop with the motorhome. There is even a museum about this painter opened in a beautiful location in the castle Château Grimaldi. Here you can admire Picasso's paintings and other drawings. Not only the collection of Picasso is beautiful, but you will also be surprised by the magnificent view over the city. For the real art and walking enthusiasts Antibes has another surprise in store. There is a walking route through the entire city. This route leads you past images of paintings by famous painters such as Monat and Picasso.
