One drawback: these popular destinations tend to be crowded. Do you want to explore some hidden gems of Croatia, where you can enjoy a quiet vacation with your motorhome? Then read on quickly, in this article we list 5 of these destinations for you!

Split is mostly known as a party and beach destination. But did you know that, just a little down south from Split, you can find some of the most beautiful places of Croatia? About a 40-minute drive from Split is Omiš. This village is surrounded by mountains and once was home to pirates. Fortunately, they have since left Omiš, which means that you can now enjoy an unbothered stay in this gorgeous environment.

Venture down the Cetina River on a raft, or admire the beautiful nature from above on a zip line. There is plenty to do here for outdoor enthusiasts! Prefer to take it a bit easier? There are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby to take a break. For example, take a look at Velika Plaza, Omiš' city beach! You can easily spend a whole day here. Spend the night at Camping Galeb, located near the centre of Omiš.

We understand that you cannot get enough of the Dalmatian coast. Luckily, there's a beautiful seaside resort just a 30-minute drive from Omiš: Brela! This small municipality has grown to be a cosy fishing village and possesses some of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia! Visit the beautiful Punta Rata Beach. This pebble beach is surrounded by rocks and greenery, which makes this beach paradisiacal! We also recommend you visit Podrace Beach, which, according to many, is the most beautiful beach of Brela.

Are you planning on visiting any of these beaches? Park your motorhome at Basko Polje. This motorhome stopover is located in Baška Voda, south from Brela, but still a beautiful place to spend the night with your motorhome.

Risnjak National Park is located in north-west Croatia, and is called the 'green heart of Croatia' for a reason. The nature here is breathtakingly beautiful. There are several hikes for all fitness levels set out throughout the national park. We recommend you to walk to the Kupa spring; a beautiful bright blue spring surrounded by green nature! This spring is easily accessible by foot in just 30 minutes.

Looking for a challenge? Hike to the Veliki Risnjak, the highest point of the National Park. This summit is whopping 1528 metres high and the hike to the top lasts about 3 hours, but you will get rewarded with a phenomenal view over the Croatian nature.

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of motorhome stopovers nearby National Park Risnjak, that's why we advise you to spend the night at Camping Oštro. This motorhome stopover is about an hour's drive from the National Park.

Istria is a popular vacation region in Croatia and Slovenia; and the mountain village Motovun might be the most beautiful of the whole region! This small, walled town is located high on a hill and therefore offers fantastic views over the green surroundings. Istria is known to be a region for food enthusiasts thanks to its delicious olive oil, pasta and truffles.

The green surroundings of Motovun are also perfect for biking tours. It is beautiful cycling here along vast plains, huge forests and olive groves. Naturally, you finish the intensive cycling tour with a delicious drink on a sunny terrace. You can spend the night near the "centre" of Motovun at Motovun Camping. Extra nice: at this motorhome site you have free access to a swimming pool.

Looking for a nice island in the Adriatic Sea? No, we are not talking about Hvar.... pay a visit to the beautiful island Brač! This island is easy to reach by ferry from Split and is one of the msot beautiful vacation destinations of Croatia. Relax on the paradisiacal beach Zlatni Rat or go on a strenuous hike to the Vidova Gora, the highest point of the Adriatic islands; an amazing view guaranteed!

Do you love history? Visit the Bol monasteries. These monasteries are built in a cave and are now more than 400 years old! Anyways, there is enough to discover on this amazing island. Spend the night with your motorhome at Kamp Kito, located nearby the famous Zlatni Rat beach and the Bol monasteries.
