Sant Quintí de Mediona

From Sant Joan de Mediona you travel to Sant Quintí de Mediona. Sant Quintí de Mediona is known for its wealth of orchards and its many streams. You can discover these streams while walking along the river path, also called Camí del Riu. The route is 43 kilometers long in total. It is very nice to pick up a piece of it! In addition, in the old town you will find several beautiful buildings that you can admire during a short walk. Sant Pere de Riudebitlles

The village of Sant Pere de Riudebitlles is the next stop on this motorhome route. The village has a rich past with paper mills. As such, you will encounter several of them during your visit! One of the most beautiful locations in the village is the 14th century aqueduct Pont Nou. In addition, the Casal dels Marquesos de Llió - the house of the Marquis of Lyon - is a must. This is one of the best preserved Catalan civilian buildings in Gothic style. In the past it was owned by Josep de Mora i de Catà, he was appointed Marquis of Lyon. Hence the name of the building! Today it houses the Municipal Council of Sant Pere de Riudebitlles.

Sant Sadurní d’Anoia

If you want to learn everything about the sparkling drink, you can visit the Cava Center. Lavern

Where Sant Sadurní d'Anoia is called the capital of cava, Lavern is the capital of vineyards. So expect delicious wines at the many wineries! Besides wine, the village is also known for the cultivation of the Ordal peach. Because of the 100% dry land, the peach gets a unique flavor. Time to visit the local supermarket or greengrocer! In addition, you will find an Esperanto museum. This was a language created in 1887 as an international language. There you will find various objects such as books and magazines written in Esperanto.

El Pla del Penedès

The next stop is El Pla del Penedès. Here there are several sights to admire. For example, you will find La Font de l'Esteve. This fountain was formerly used to irrigate the orchards. One of the delicacies that you will find here, and that you will also find in other parts of the Penedès, is the Garlanda. This is a kind of cake made in a swinging form that includes aniseed. Vilobí del Penedès

From El Pla del Penedès you travel further to Vilobí del Penedès. Here you discover the Parc dels Talls. This landscape was created by the mining activities that took place here in the past. Mining has been going on since the 11th century! At the end of the 20th century mining stopped. Nowadays this has become a beautiful nature reserve and there are four beautiful lakes formed by mining, also called "pèlags". You can explore the area on foot or by bicycle. If you want to learn more about the history, it is also possible to visit the natural park with a guide.

Sant Martí Sarroca

You roll from one beautiful natural area to another. In the vicinity of Sant Martí Sarroca you can also enjoy hiking. The nature reserve Les Valls is perfect for this. In addition, you will find in the area several beautiful historic farms that you can admire during your walk. There is still a lot of agriculture. You can also enjoy delicious lamb in this area!

Torrelles de Foix

You continue your route from Sant Martí Sarroca to Torrelles de Foix. Torrelles de Foix is full of beautiful places. Santa Margarida i els Monjos

In Santa Margarida i els Monjos the annual Remeiart takes place. The village is known for this local market where medicinal herbs are promoted. During the market you can also taste the typical herbal cupcakes. There is also a 'normal' market every Sunday where you can buy the most delicious local products. In addition, you can admire the Castle of Penyafort, a beautiful 11th century building. Since 2002 it has been home to the town council.

Vilafranca del Penedès

Another Penedès capital: Vilafranca del Penedès! You've already seen the capital of cava and vineyards. Vilafranca del Penedès is precisely the capital of wine! Here you will find the Vinseum, a wine museum. Here you will learn all about the process and history of wine and it is possible to taste the most delicious Catalan wines. In addition, it is possible to make a wine walk where you discover the most delicious wines of the village.
