Freiburg im Breisgau: a city full of history!

Close to the Swiss and French border, you will find Freiburg im Breisgau. This city in southern Germany is perfect for combining culture & nature during your motorhome trip. In the center of Freiburg im Breisgau you will find the historic square: Münsterplatz. On this medieval square stands the cathedral of Freiburg. The tower of this cathedral dates from the fourteenth century and you can see it in the distance towering above the other buildings in Freiburg. The tower is no less than 116 meters high! Via a spiral staircase you can climb to the top and from here you have a beautiful view over this charming city. Not only the cathedral has a rich past, around the square you will find many more houses and other buildings from the Middle Ages. Are you more in search of a culinary attraction? Then take a look in the market hall of Freiburg im Breisgau. Here you will find more than 20 stalls with specialties from all over the world. Taste here a real German sausage or a delicacy from Italy, Japan or Brazil.

Friedrichshafen: the zeppelin city!

Time for a camperstop in the zepplinstad of Germany. We are of course talking about Friedrichshafen. At the end of the twentieth century the first zepplin was built here. To this day, Friedrichshafen is inextricably linked to the zepplin. In the city you will find the Zepplin Museum. Here you will find a reconstruction of the largest zepplin ever made and learn more about this invention. To make your visit to Friedrichshafen even more unique, you can even float in a zepplin above the city! Something for everyone in Stuttgart

Another top German city is Stuttgart. With a population of about 630,000, it is the sixth largest city in Germany! Despite the size of Stuttgart, the city is very manageable. That makes it extra nice to discover the city! Also, the diverse range of activities and sights makes this city very popular with motorhomers and other tourists. Shopaholics can store for hours in the enormously long shopping street, culture lovers can indulge themselves in one of the many museums and everywhere you can taste the most delicious dishes! During your camperstop you should definitely eat one of the German specialties. A fun way to discover all the highlights of the city is by bike. In many different places in Stuttgart you can rent a bike and get great routes. Get off wherever you want and explore this versatile city at your own pace. Visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the real mountain feeling

For the real mountain feeling you have to be in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. This city is in fact surrounded by mountains. To begin with, the Zugspitze. With a height of 2962 meters this is the highest mountain in Germany! Also the Wankl and the Kramerspitz are close to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. As you can imagine, this destination is perfect for hiking enthusiasts. You have countless hiking opportunities here! The town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen itself has only existed since 1935. At that time Adolf Hitler made sure that the two villages 'Garmisch' and 'Partenkirchen' became one municipality. The reason for this was the Winter Olympics. That it used to be two villages can still be seen during your camperstop in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There is not one city center. Let yourself get lost in the nice streets and discover the nice antique shops. There is also a rich folk culture and music is highly valued here.
