A motorhome trip of the Italian Riviera

The Italian Riviera is a region with a lot of variety: you will find chic seaside resorts that are in no way inferior to the French south coast, and scattered along the coast, there are both larger and smaller harbour towns. In addition, there are plenty of small villages all with their own character, which is especially noticeable in the famous Cinque Terre. Discover this beautiful region now during your motorhome tour in Italy and immerse yourself in the Italian (food) culture: a delicious pasta or pizza should of course not be missed!

San Remo

San Remo is particularly known as a beautiful seaside resort. It is no coincidence that this is such a chic seaside resort, as the city is just a stone's throw away from the famous Cannes, Nice and Monaco. This makes San Remo a good start for your motorhome trip through the Italian Riviera if you are coming from the South of France. The number one activity in San Remo is a trip on the water with whales and dolphins swimming past you. The famous casino is also a popular attraction, where you will find yourself in a real 70s atmosphere. Although you think you are in a chic part of the Floral Riviera, this also makes it a special part of Italy to start your motorhome-trip!

Spend the night just outside San Remo at Camper Park Nervia along the river of the same name or in the harbour at Marina degli Aregai.

Genoa

A large part of Genoa's historical centre is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and rightly so! That is why this city is also perfect to visit with a motor home. The beautiful medieval cities and palaces dating back to Roman times, among others, create an atmospheric and authentic city centre. The old harbour is also worth a visit, where you will find various attractions such as the Biosphere, where you can admire different tropical plants and animals, and the Galata Museo del Mare, where you will learn everything about the maritime history of Genoa.

Just over half an hour from Genoa, you can spend the night at the San Rocco camperstop.

La Spezia

From the port city of La Spezia, you can easily visit Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre consists of five villages, each with its own character. You have Manarola, the oldest village of Cinque Terre, and Corniglia, which is the only village not located by the sea, but on a rock. You can choose to visit all the villages on foot or by train or boat. Both the boat and the train leave from La Spezia, among other places. Unfortunately, it is not advisable to visit the villages with the motorhome because of the narrow streets, so you better leave it in La Spezia at camperstop La Spezia. In La Spezia you can visit the beautiful castle of San Giorgio and enjoy the real Italian kitchen!
