Motorhome citytrip: Strasbourg

Strasbourg is bursting with idyllic streets full of half-timbered houses. The fact that the city has a German name is not so strange for this border city, which in the past alternated between Germany and France! Not so strange, because it is close to the German border in north-eastern France. German influences are still noticeable, partly because of the many beers that are brewed here. So it's time for a city trip to this border town!

Sights of Strasbourg

It has already been mentioned, but the historic city centre in particular is a real attraction in Strasbourg! La Petite France, as this part is called, used to be the home of many fishermen and other workers. Today it is a beautiful old part of the city, where you can spend hours! If you want to see this part of the city from a different perspective, a boat trip is definitely recommended. This way you can see the workers' houses passing by in peace and quiet!

More Strasbourg

Another not-to-be-missed highlight is the cathedral. It belongs to one of the largest in the country, which makes it worthwhile to climb to the 142 metres high summit. The European Parliament building is also beautiful here. Now you will probably think: isn't it in Brussels? Since the Second World War, Parliament has also met here once a month! Finally, the city also has plenty of museums, of which there are no less than 3 in the Palais Rohan! Here you will find the museum of arts and crafts, the Musée des Beaux Arts and the archaeological museum. This is how you will have fun during your motorhome trip to Strasbourg!

You can spend the night near Strasbourg at the free motorhome stopover Place de la Mairie in Kilstett.
